What Do I Want To Feel?

What do I want to feel?
In the way of love, what is it that we want to feel like? Usually in life the underlying motive of the things we want, is more related to the feeling that we want to enjoy and experience than the actual thing itself. Often it’s not the actual thing that we want but the experiential feeling we believe will come with the thing. With this thought in mind, what does the kind of love we seek feel like? What do we truly want to feel? This is where the confusion lies. We start thinking, and not about what it is we want to feel like. That’s the first big mistake. We start rationalizing, conceptualizing, intellectualizing ideas, etc. etc., not paying any attention to how we want to feel. At this point it’s better to slow down, get into a state of surrender, stop all the distractive modes and although it’s not easy at first, to “check in” on our feelings. It can create anxiousness. But look at that anxiousness and go beyond it. This is internal participation. You must be engaged. Part of the dilemma in life these days is this sense of spectatorship. We watch a movie, a funny romantic comedy like No Strings Attached. Good movie-deep statement about our culture. But we watch this movie and this is the extent, for many, to which we experience love, as an idea, which really isn’t an experience, it’s an entertainment, a spectatorship. We watch it without participation.
So we get quiet and ready to hear the heart tell us what we are longing to feel. Listening to what it wants to let us “know”. We must quiet the brain for a moment so we can hear the heart speak. Get quiet and still. Then listen. Repeat” WHAT IS IT, I WANT TO FEEL WITH ANOTHER?” Not what do I want to get? No. “HOW DO I WANT TO FEEL?” “WHAT IS IT THAT FEELS GOOD FOR ME?”  We’re all different. So the answer varies. That is a great thing. Everything varies in Nature. It keeps things interesting. And how we want to feel, what brings satisfaction and fulfillment changes all the time. This is the nature of the unmanifest (Heaven/the Divine) and the manifest (what we create on Earth). Everything starts in the unmanifest, then it gets created or manifested through thoughts and feelings.  Something new can always be manifested again. So this is a beautiful thing because we have the power to create and then it can be changed, a new something is created to celebrate. This is the difference between celebration and entertainment. In celebration we participate. In entertainment we are spectators. So the cycles of life all follow this pattern of creation, sustainment, destruction, over and over, again and again. This is life. We can only exercise control over our reactions to the ebbs and flows of life and circumstances through our own awareness of how we are feeling and what we want to feel. We can change our feelings. We can consciously chose our feelings, we can direct our feelings better. We can consciously select what we want to feel and by actively putting our awareness and focus on it, we are participating (celebrating) in creating the kind of life we really want by knowing what it feels like. We need to start thinking about how we want our lives to feel like on a daily basis. With that said what feels better than love!!!?
